In
1997 Reverend Nadira Keaton accepted her call to preach, teach
and minister in dance the uncompromising Word of God. Her
love, dedication and commitment to God and His people have openened
many doors for service. She has taken her ministry to many
churches, conferences, schools, corporate offices, hospitals and
nursing homes.
She
has a particular desire to see young people excel in achieving
their goals and leading this country to truly being "one namtion
under God." She trains youth and adults alike to "think
out of the box" and use all of life's experiences to propel them
into a future beyond past limitations. She teaches the theraputic
use of movement to further the spiritual, emotional and physical
integration of individuals.
Reverend Keaton is an ordained minister and currently serves as a counselor,
teacher,
dance instructor/choreographer and associate pastor. She has previously
served as a youth counselor, paralegal, human resources administrator and executive
assistant. Rev. Keaton holds a Master of Science degree in Christian Counseling
and a Bachelors of Science degree in Theological Studies from Philadelphia Biblical
University. She also holds certificates in Christian
Counseling, Paralegal Studies and Human Resources Management. She has studied
dance with the Princeton Repertory Ballet and the Elohim Liturgical Dance Team. She
has participated in and taught several community workshops and seminars with
a particular interest in strengthening families through the creative expression,
prayer, praise, overcoming obstacles and moving forward.
Reverend Keaton has been heard on radio and has made television appearances.
She is the recipient of the Community Leadership Award and has been recognized
for several years for her outstanding commitment to her community and church
family. She is also the recipient of the 2003 "Kindness Award" for the many
acts of kindness and compassion she has demonstrated throughout the years..
Reverend Keaton serves as an Associate Pastor of the Shekinah Glory Christian
Church in Newark, NJ under the leadership of Bishop Loretta Smith-Koffi. She
is employed as a Youth and Family Therapist for the Mercer Street Friends Company
and is the Founder and Executive Director of Vessels of Praise, Inc.
Reverend Keaton and her husband Thomas are the proud parents of four (4) daughters
and 6 gradchildren.
